Mason jars are one of my favorite items to use around the house since they are both functional and decorative. Usually I would use them as vases or utensil holders, but I came across this cute idea to use them outdoors. Rather than use a plant hanger to actually hang a plant, you drop in a mason jar instead. Attach a carabiner to the end of the hanger, and you have outdoor lighting - just that simple!
I love how these look just as the sun was setting. This was by far the easiest and cheapest way to get that amazing outdoor glow. I recommend using mason jars that have lids so that you can cover them when not in use.
Items Needed:
2 mason jars (standard size)
2 small pillar candles
2 macramé Plant Hangers (I got these from Amazon)
2 carabiners to hang the planter from a branch
A tall friend/husband to reach the desired branches
Be careful when lighting the candles. I accidentally lit the macramé holder on fire when attempting to light the candle. Have your tall friend light the candles as well.
I think this is my favorite diy so far!
ReplyDeleteThis was so easy I'm not sure I can call it DIY! Figured you'd like it since it has mason jars!
